From an early age, I was surrounded by the hum of engines and competition. Growing up with brothers and a family passionate about motorsport, it was only natural that I found myself drawn to the adrenaline of racing. My granddad and dad’s love for motorsport planted the seed, and soon, I realised that I had the discipline that came with the challenge.
My fearless nature was evident from the start. As a child, I would leap into the swimming pool, determined to do it by myself, unshaken by fear or doubt. This independent streak carried over into all aspects of my life. When I took up football, I quickly realised that while I enjoyed the sport, I struggled to find where I truly fit. It wasn’t until I stepped into a kart and gripped the wheel for the first time that everything clicked. This was where I belonged.
Competing in motorsport at a young age, I faced a crossroads—balancing my passion with the desire to spend time with friends. I made the tough decision to step back temporarily, but it didn’t take long for me to realise what was missing. Racing wasn’t just a sport for me; it was a part of who I was. With renewed clarity, I committed to building a future in motorsport, knowing that this was the path I was meant to follow.
Being one of the few females in a male-dominated sport came with its own set of challenges. The lack of female race suits, feeling different, standing out when I sometimes wanted to blend in— these were obstacles that could have deterred me. But I had something deep within: an inner drive that refused to let others dictate my choices.
My mum’s background in emotional intelligence helped me during these moments of self-doubt, but ultimately, it was my own perseverance that pushed me forward. I knew, without a doubt, that I wouldn’t stop motorsport because of what other people thought.
I have spent serious time reflecting on whether I could truly make it in this sport. And each time, the answer has been a resounding yes. I have the determination, the discipline, and the self- awareness to carve out a place for myself in motorsport. More than that, I want to lead—to push the limits of what’s possible and to inspire other females in this sport, or those who have specific goals, along their way.
Now, as I balance my studies in Motorsport Engineering at the National Motorsport Academy with intensive daily training, I remain committed to my vision. I am not just chasing podiums; I am shaping a future where I am a recognisable name in motorsport, where I pave the way for other women in male-dominated industries. My journey is one of resilience, passion, and an unshakable belief in myself. And this is just the beginning.
